Because the shoulder has such a large range of movements, it is not structurally as strong as the hip joint. To help this it uses muscles like the rotator cuff muscles to help stabilize the joint when moving but it is easy to injure these with any unexpected movement or overloading.
Your Osteopath will identify which muscles have been affected and consider the shoulder in relation to the upper back and neck as there are muscles that work over more than one joint.
